Cris - Toyota says that they didn't know they had a problem until a few months ago. I don't think that the dealer was intentionally lying to you, but I hear what you're saying. If someone at the dealership had listened, maybe Toyota would have found this problem months ago.

When I took my 2008 Toyota Tundra 4wheel drive in for the 5000 mi check up I told them of my problem with the gas pedal sticking (X3 times) A very scary thing. I was told that there was no problem, no other complaints, not to worry. It has happened twice since then. Now I see that there is a recall. Same thing with my 2004 Tundra. Why can't Toyota be straight with people?

I have had my 2007 Tundra Crewmax Limited 5.7 for a little over a year now. At the 5000 mile oil change they replaced my driveshaft because of a bad 'clunk'. When I just went back at for the third oil change at 13,800 miles they had to replace my front differential due to a vibration upon deceleration. Toyota bought an extended warranty for 7 years & 100,000 miles on the power train. No cost to me. I was told these components were built by US suppliers and their quality control was bad...so Toyota is making good on the bad quality of American made parts. I've also had the JBL system replaced twice and the rubber strips on both sides of the roof line blow off in car washes. Kinda feel like I bought an expensive Dodge Truck. If it weren't for the extended warranty I would try to replace it.

Friend of mine just got a 2007 Tundra. 4wd, v8. Runs real good. Has about 5,000 miles on it (dealer parts truck).

He uses it to tow, back country, etc.

Seems real nice, lots of power. He no longer drives his jeep.

I used my 4wd drive in the snow and it made an awfull clanking noise , I had to turn it off. Its a shame Toyota has produced such a bad truck !!

I'm definitely waiting until 2009 to purchase a new Tundra. there are WAY too many "bugs" so far, it's rather dissapointing.
