No rubber or plastic caps that fall off and then dirt and water are inside the step bar. I decided to buy these over the others for my 08 Tundra DC 4x4 TRD and they are nice. The price was about $40 more, but worth it for the stainless hardware and build quality. I highly recommend them. Light and strong, They are made well, and look great. Was rather difficult to find something for regular cab with long box, but these fit the bill nicely.
