TundraSolutions.com member AstralTrekkor has likely become one of the first people in the country to hit 100k miles in his 2007 Toyota Tundra. Congratulations!

AstralTrekkor is a big believer in the Toyota brand. Not only has his brother convinced the whole family to drive Toyotas, but he also had a 2000 Tundra that he drove more than 263k miles! Talk about a long-lasting truck…and the 2000 was still running strong when AstralTrekkor bought the new 2007.
Says TS member AstralTrekkor “The plan was to drive the ’00 Tundra for 500k miles, then buy a used 2000 Tundra and run it for 500k. That plan changed in ’07 when Toyota came out with the 5.7 engine. My first concern was that bigger engine would get worse MPG than the ’00. As an independent contractor driving 200 – 400 miles per day, the cost of fuel is my primary expense. Amazingly my mileage was better with the new engine. In fact, the MPG gain reduced my fuel cost to the point that when I netted the fuel cost savings against the new truck payment, it was only costing me $25 a week to drive a brand new truck!”
Here’s the real kicker – most of the 263k miles on the 2000 Tundra AND most of the 100k miles on the 2007 Tundra were driven towing a trailer – with anywhere between 3k and 8k lbs! During all these miles towing and hauling, there hasn’ t been one major repair or issue. Toyota quality indeed.
AstralTrekkor put it best – “I’ll drive this truck until the wheels fall off and then…I’ll probably just buy new wheels!”
Congratulations. For anyone out there doubting the reliability and quality of the Tundra, “here’s your sign.”

Great story – definitely feeling good about the Tundra quality and need to join some type of Toyota club since that’s all in my garages too.
