LOL @ MK's comment about the carbon monoxide detector...wow....The only thing I can think of for the double-counting is that there must be some other vehicle that would have been #11 and 12 which would have been shocking. Or maybe someone didn't fork over enough bail out bribe money to be left out of this study. =)

Darn, the link to the EPA ratings do not go back past 2000. I bet the 1986 caprice classic I drive occassionally that blows all kind of obnoxious fumes out when starting up is by far superior (or inferior as EPA environmentalists see it) than any 200-2010 vehicle. It even sets off the carbon monoxide detector with the very outside garage door open in the basement about 25 yards away in another room under the house with another inside garage door closed going under the house. If Obama wanted to give me 4K for this vehicle, he should have instead of jacking me around calling the CARS idiots who I talked to and never bothered calling me back - like they cared about the environment in the first place. Can you tell I do not really care for govt. or pollution as much as others? Don't know what I'll do if and when the small town I live in bans burning in our backyard in a burning barrel? It is coming, but hopefully not anytime soon.

Very intresting site. Like you Jason it isn't fair tally. A double hit just because of nomenclature and not using trucks into this just shows where were they thinking on this. Very good article. Thanks TXTee.
