    6.2 8-speed 420 HP

I am real interested to see how this one does. I am considering a SLT 6.2 – 8 speed next time.

    Tim,

please provide a detailed report of the storage inside and out of the truck. Also, build quality perception and ride quality. Any squeaks over real bumpy roads. How the 8 speed compare to the ZF in the Ram. The ZF doesn’t gear hunt at all and shift logic is dead on balls. I want to hear how the GMC is. Does the torque management mess it all up?

My business partner just got his SLT Caynon, I have to say it’s solid. Looks like GMC upped their game a little. It’s much nicer than the tacoma he replaced, way quieter, smoother, comfortable.

They are getting bigger and stronger, The real test starts when driven daily on and off road. It is time Toyota steps up there game too.The Tacoma has been in a coma for a few years now and has not changed much. GMC wants to move up ford went soft and ram don’t know what to do but still can not figure it out yet.

I have heard that there are still some problems with the AFE system and if it is not working perfectly the engine can still over heat a bit?

Also, some have indicated that the EPS is at times a little sketchy particularly when driving off road. While not as bad as the Ford’s for the last four years, some have complained. Seems most of the EPS issues have centered on “over correcting” and random electric kick back.

Tim, let us know what you find out.

is it really a fair comparison since as far as I know, the ONLY way as of now to get the 6.2L is in a decked out 50K plus msrp configuration.

I wanted to get a mid-level cloth trimmed chevy crewcab 6 1/2′ bed, but none available limited production runs a year ago in 2014 when ONLY decked out leather, etc. silverado’s had them sparingly.
