<p>Kansas gets a bad rap. People joke about the flat land, wheat fields, and the Kansas City Royals, but <strong>we&#8217;re guessing these people don&#8217;t know about the world-class bird hunting in Kansas</strong>, not to mention Kansas City Barbecue. If you live in Kansas and you enjoy bird-hunting, you need five things:<span id="more-2884"></span></p>
<ol>
<li>A shotgun</li>
<li>Non-toxic ammo</li>
<li>A license for the birds you&#8217;re looking for</li>
<li>A dog that knows how to find birds (more than one is even better)</li>
<li>A truck</li>
</ol>
<p>Of course, you can still hunt if you know someone who has #4 and #5. If you don&#8217;t have a truck or a good dog (or three), think about getting to know <a href="http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/members/onpointtundra.html" target="_blank">OnPointTundra</a> &#8211; he&#8217;s got it covered.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2886" title="On Point 2008 Toyota Tundra CrewMax" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/on-point-2008-tundra-crew.jpg" alt="On Point 2008 Toyota Tundra CrewMax" width="500" height="284" /></p>
<p>OnPointTundra (also known as Josh) has decked out his 08&#8242; CrewMax to be a bird hunting machine. First, you&#8217;ve got to be able to drive around in the fields without getting stuck. That means a good set of tires&#8230;and a nice set of wheels is an added bonus. This truck has a set of 18&#215;9 XD Monster wheels with 325/60 R18 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ&#8217;s, which are a little more than 33&#8243; around. Bigger tires on a slightly wider wheel mean that a set of <a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2010/01/29/bushwacker-pocket-fender-flares/">Bushwacker Fender Flares</a> help protect the truck from whatever the bitter tires kick up.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2885" title="Baja ATZ tires and Monster XD wheels" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/baja-atz-tires-xd-monster-wheels.jpg" alt="Baja ATZ tires and Monster XD wheels" width="500" height="300" /></p>
<p>The stock Toyota Tundra has tires with an overall diameter of about 32&#8243;, so adding an inch in tire diameter requires a leveling kit. This truck has a <a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/01/05/toyota-tundra-lift-kit-review-truxxx-3-lift-kit/">Truxxx 3&#8243; lift kit</a>. Heavy-duty bumpers are also a nice add-on when you&#8217;re banging around in the fields, and they&#8217;re not bad when you&#8217;re parking in the middle of downtown K.C. either.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2887" title="Tundra with Expedition One winch bumpers" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/tundra-expedition-one-winch-bumpers.jpg" alt="Tundra with Expedition One winch bumpers" width="500" height="273" /></p>
<p>This Tundra has a nice set of solid steel Expedition One winch bumpers front and rear, which include mounting points for this truck&#8217;s PIAA 510 ion  fog lights. Expedition One&#8217;s bumpers are very similar to <a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/12/17/arb-sahara-bumper-and-bull-bar-for-the-toyota-tundra/">ARB&#8217;s Sahara front bumpers</a>, and both are a great add-on for work duties. They also look pretty great next to the blacked-out rims, aftermarket tint job, and black N-fab step bars.</p>
<p>Inside the truck, there&#8217;s a back-up camera, homelink, and heavy-duty floor mats to keep everything clean.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2888" title="Dog boxes in a Toyota Tundra" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/tundra-dog-boxes.jpg" alt="Dog boxes in a Toyota Tundra" width="500" height="352" /></p>
<p><a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2009/12/14/dog-safety-tips-truck-owners/">We&#8217;ve talked about trucks and dog safety before</a>, and we have to commend Josh for investing in a dog box. It&#8217;s one of the safest ways to transport his dog, and it looks great too. There are three doors, one for each of the dogs: Rocky the Boxer, Florida, and Missy (both Florida and Missy are English Pointers). Here&#8217;s a pic of Missy doing what she loves:</p>
<div id="attachment_2890" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 510px"><img class="size-full wp-image-2890" title="Missy the English Pointer" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/missy-english-pointer.jpg" alt="Missy the English Pointer" width="500" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Missy the English Pointer</p></div>
<p><strong>OnPointTundra &#8211; nicely done</strong>. Your truck is a great example of how to build a bird-hunting machine, not to mention a great field truck.</p>

<p>Most of our featured Tundras are street rides with some custom extras. Lately, however, we&#8217;ve been featuring Tundras that are more show trucks than street rides. Mark (aka LowRiderMan) has an 08&#8242; Tundra Double Cab that is most definitely a <strong>show</strong> truck. When it comes to shows, there&#8217;s not much importance on &#8220;<em>function</em>&#8221; per se &#8211; <strong>the mods are for show</strong>. <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Check it out &#8211; and enjoy the craftsmanship and creativity</strong>. This isn&#8217;t so much a truck as it is an artwork.</p>
<div id="attachment_1891" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1891" title="lowriderman-rules" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/lowriderman-rules.jpg" alt="We present TunDrop - a 2008 Tundra Doublecab show truck" width="450" height="296" /><p class="wp-caption-text">We present TunDrop - a 2008 Tundra Doublecab show truck</p></div>
<p><span id="more-1882"></span></p>
<p><strong>Interior:</strong></p>
<p>One-off billet knobs for the climate controls &#8211; sweet!</p>
<div id="attachment_1888" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1888" title="billet-control-knobs" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/billet-control-knobs.jpg" alt="One-of-a-kind billet control knobs" width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">One-of-a-kind billet control knobs</p></div>
<p>There&#8217;s also a set of Putco Billet pedals and a specially modified Momo Evo F-16 shift knob. Mark has had the lower 2.25&#8243; of the shift knob cut off to give it a much lower/better look.</p>
<div id="attachment_1892" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1892" title="modified-momo-f-16-shift-knob" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/modified-momo-f-16-shift-knob.jpg" alt="This is a modified Momo F16 shift knob. Very sharp." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">This is a modified Momo F16 shift knob. Very sharp.</p></div>
<p>The center console has been covered in custom embroidered leather with over 100,000 stitches of thread, and the rest of the interior has after-market seat leather.</p>
<p>Mark also did the seat belt chime/dummy light disable mod.</p>
<p><strong>Electronics:</strong></p>
<p>Fiberglassed 11&#8243; monitor custom-molded into the top glove box area. Below the screen (where the other glove box would be), there are two Xbox controllers sitting in their own suede upholstered holders. Of course, the holders are back-lit (red lighting).</p>
<div id="attachment_1890" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1890" title="in-dash-screen-xbox" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/in-dash-screen-xbox.jpg" alt="11&quot; in-dash screen with suede upholstered game controller storage." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">11&quot; in-dash screen with suede upholstered game controller storage.</p></div>
<p>Kenwood DNX7120 deck along with Kenwood Amps on the bass and highs. A single 12&#8243; Rockford Fosgate shallow-mount PS3D212 sub woofer rests in a custom-built 2 cubic feet box underneath the rear seat. All Alpine and Infinity speakers for highs.</p>
<p>Where there are Xbox controllers, there&#8217;s an Xbox. TunDrop has an Xbox 360 installed behind the center console on the rear floor.</p>
<p>If your friends are hogging the controllers, you can watch the game play on the two headrest monitors and (1) 16&#8243; flip-down monitor mounted for view in the rear seat.</p>
<div id="attachment_1893" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1893" title="rear-screens" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/rear-screens.jpg" alt="This truck has more screens than a TV shop." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">This truck has a total of eight screens.</p></div>
<p>There are also two 12.2&#8243; monitors mounted in the sun visors up front&#8230;and a 20&#8243; flip-down screen in the bed (it&#8217;s mounted to the bottom of the tonneau). There&#8217;s also a scrolling LED sign back there (just for fun).</p>
<div id="attachment_1894" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1894" title="truck-bed-screen" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/truck-bed-screen.jpg" alt="Even the truck bed has a screen." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Even the truck bed has a screen.</p></div>
<p>Basically, <strong>this thing has more screens than a TV store</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Engine:</strong></p>
<p>Optima battery with billet tray and cover.</p>
<p>There are 4 Hornblasters train horns &#8211; 2 in the engine bay and 2 in front of the radiator. To feed all these train horns, there are 2 air tanks (one on each side of the truck).</p>
<p>The engine cover and fuse box cover have been airbrushed and they look kick-ass. Vertical Door Kit By Vertical Doors, Inc. Vanity Plate. Custom Made Mount For Wheel Mounted In Bed.</p>
<div id="attachment_1887" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1887" title="airbrushed-tundra-engine-cover" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/airbrushed-tundra-enginve-cover.jpg" alt="Check out the intricately airbrushed engine cover on this Tundra." width="450" height="503" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Check out the intricately airbrushed engine cover on this Tundra.</p></div>
<p>The radiator hose lights up! KillerGlass makes a transparent glass radiator hose that has a red LED lighting system. Toyota&#8217;s coolant is also red, so the result is a very vibrant &#8220;lava&#8221; effect when the engine is running and the hood is up. To complement the KillerGlass radiator hose, red and white V-LED strip lighting has been added to the engine bay (under the engine cover, alongside the motor, and along the firewall).</p>
<div id="attachment_1889" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1889" title="engine-compartment" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/engine-compartment.jpg" alt="Red lava coolant and LED lighting give this engine compartment an eerie glow." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Red lava coolant and LED lighting give this engine compartment an eerie glow.</p></div>
<p>Finally, to wrap things up, there&#8217;s a <a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/toyota-tundra-cold-air-intakes/">K&amp;N 77 series cold air intake</a> under the hood too.</p>
<p><strong>Exterior Modifications:</strong></p>
<p>To start with, Mark de-badged all the emblems and the TRD decals on this truck within hours of taking delivery. Then he installed color-keyed Sequoia door handles. The tailgate handle has also been color-matched.</p>
<p>Up front there&#8217;s a Ram air hood, and just below the TunDrop has all three <a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/05/23/tundra-carriage-works-billet-grille-review/">Carriage Works billet grilles</a> installed (upper and lower valances plus the grille). The front bumper has been painted-to-match too &#8211; along with the side mirror caps.</p>
<div id="attachment_1895" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1895" title="tundrop-front-end" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/tundrop-front-end.jpg" alt="Carriage works grilles, ram air hood, and much, much more." width="450" height="301" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Carriage works grilles, ram air hood, and much, much more.</p></div>
<p>Headlight mods: blacked-out lenses, tinted side marker lenses, True 6000K HID low beams and fog lights, and LED turn signal strips. Daytime running lights have also been disabled.</p>
<div id="attachment_1896" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1896" title="tundrop-headlight-mods" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/tundrop-headlight-mods.jpg" alt="HID headlights plus LED turn signal strips plus HID fog lights (not shown)." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">HID headlights plus LED turn signal strips plus HID fog lights (not shown).</p></div>
<p>There are turn signals in side mirrors and custom-made front and rear billet door sills, and of course a nice dark window tint. Then there&#8217;s the &#8220;Lambo&#8221; style vertical doors&#8230;</p>
<p>In back this truck has a Leer 800 low-profile tonneau and a bed rug installed (plus a custom mount for the spare 22&#8243;). There&#8217;s also an LED 3rd brake light on the back of the cab. Be sure to check out the blacked-out custom tail-light lenses with no humps on the sides of the lights.</p>
<div id="attachment_1897" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1897" title="tundrop-rear" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/tundrop-rear.jpg" alt="One of a kind tail light lenses plus a nice view of the rims and the lowering kit." width="450" height="280" /><p class="wp-caption-text">One of a kind tail light lenses plus a nice view of the rims and the lowering kit.</p></div>
<p>Finally, to give the truck the mean, low to the ground look, it has a 4/6 Mcgaughys drop kit with 22&#8243; wheels wearing 265/35/22 Yokohama&#8217;s. Don&#8217;t miss the blue painted brake calipers.</p>
<p>As if all of this wasn&#8217;t enough, here&#8217;s a list of <strong>upcoming modifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>LED Interior Lights</li>
<li>Roll Pan</li>
<li>Color Match Front Bumper &amp; Grill Surround</li>
<li>AirRide suspension</li>
<li>Two-Tone Paint</li>
</ul>
<p>When you add it all up, <strong>there are two likely reactions that people will have to this truck</strong>. One is pure, unadulterated <em>excitement</em> (that&#8217;s us). The other is pure, unadulterated <em>jealousy</em>. When the jealous people start to say &#8220;Well, this truck is nice but&#8230;&#8221;, Mark says &#8220;They&#8217;re just jealous that my Tundra has pulled more kitty&#8217;s than a bowl of milk.&#8221; <img src='http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Mark would like us to give props to FXCustumz and the owner Billy. Billy is the instrumental man behind installing most of Mark&#8217;s ideas for mods which makes them come to life.</p>
<p>Oh yeah &#8211; did we mention this truck has it&#8217;s own poster? Mark had it made for display at car shows. If your truck has it&#8217;s own poster, you might own a show truck. <strong>Mark &#8211; LowRiderMan &#8211; thanks for sharing TunDrop</strong>.</p>
<div id="attachment_1886" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 353px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1886" title="tundrop-show-poster" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/tundrop-show-poster.jpg" alt="The official show poster of TunDrop" width="343" height="768" /><p class="wp-caption-text">The official show poster of TunDrop</p></div>

There are many, many awesome Tundras on the road. One of them, a 2007 Regular Cab Short Box (RCSB) Tundra,  is owned by Franky. In addition to having a cool nickname (Franky calls his Tundra &#8220;Doc&#8221;), this Tundra also has the big motor, a supercharger, and a ton of extras.

<p><strong>There are many, many awesome Tundras on the road</strong>. One of them, a 2007 Regular Cab Short Box (RCSB) Tundra,  is owned by Franky. In addition to having a cool nickname (Franky calls his Tundra &#8220;Doc&#8221;), this Tundra also has the big motor, a supercharger, and a ton of extras.</p>
<div id="attachment_1729" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1729" title="2007-tundra-regular-cab-short-box" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/2007-tundra-regular-cab-short-box.jpg" alt="Here's &quot;Doc&quot; - a Supercharged 2007 Toyota Tundra RSCB" width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Here&#39;s &quot;Doc&quot; - a Supercharged 2007 Toyota Tundra RCSB. Be sure to note the smoked headlight lenses.</p></div>
<p>As you can see, the Doctor is &#8220;in.&#8221; This thing is suhweet. <strong>Here&#8217;s the low-down</strong>:<span id="more-1725"></span></p>
<p>Doc has a LOT under the hood &#8211; the <a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/06/06/trd-57-tundra-supercharger-specs-504-hp-and-550-lb-ft-torque/">TRD supercharger</a> is enough to make any Tundra a monster, but this one also has JBA headers and a McGuaghy&#8217;s lowering kit with Tokico springs. So, not only is it fast, but it can also hang in the corners.</p>
<div id="attachment_1727" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1727" title="rcsb-tundra-trd-supercharger" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/rcsb-tundra-trd-supercharger.jpg" alt="Doc's TRD Supercharger" width="450" height="338" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Doc&#39;s TRD Supercharger</p></div>
<p>Franky doesn&#8217;t just listen to the motor either. He&#8217;s got an awesome stereo setup, with Memphis brand speakers, subs, tweets, and amplification. <strong>There&#8217;s a lot to be said for using the same manufacturer for all your components because they tend to work well together</strong> &#8211; kudos to Franky for keeping it all under one brand.</p>
<div id="attachment_1730" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1730" title="custom-tundra-interior" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/custom-tundra-interior.jpg" alt="The custom interior touches include seats, a boost gauge, and a custom-painted instrument cluster." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">The custom interior touches include seats, a boost gauge, and a custom-painted instrument cluster.</p></div>
<p>As if the performance and stereo upgrades weren&#8217;t enough, Franky has invested a lot of personal effort into his trucks interior too. TRD seats paired up with a Marshall mechanical boost gauge, and the coup de grâce are <strong>the carefully painted gauge surrounds and the blacked-out cluster</strong>.</p>
<p>The exterior has a lot of finishing touches too. Starting with a very nice window tint, Franky painstakingly &#8220;smoked&#8221; (a.k.a. tinted) the headlight and tail light lenses. It was a lot of work, but it really adds to the finished product.</p>
<div id="attachment_1728" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1728" title="smoked-tundra-tail-light" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/smoked-tundra-tail-light.jpg" alt="Smoked Tundra tail light lenses." width="450" height="315" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Smoked Tundra tail light lenses.</p></div>
<p>The wheels are another story. The dealership installed a sharp set of chrome rims, but they weren&#8217;t Franky&#8217;s style. SO, he installed some 20&#8243; Gunner 5 MB Motoring blacked-out rims wearing performance Yokos.</p>
<div id="attachment_1726" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1726" title="mb-gunner-5-20-inch-wheels" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/mb-gunner-5-20-inch-wheels.jpg" alt="MB &quot;Gunner 5&quot; 20 inch wheels" width="450" height="314" /><p class="wp-caption-text">MB &quot;Gunner 5&quot; 20 inch wheels</p></div>
<p>Here&#8217;s an awesome video Franky put together. It&#8217;s fun watching the truck run down the track, and there&#8217;s some good footage of the truck breaking lose on a deserted back road.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2009/09/18/supercharged-2007-toyota-tundra-rcsb/"><em>Click here to view the embedded video.</em></a></p>
<p>The video is also very well-edited &#8211; Franky must have a day job in video!</p>
<p><strong>Franky &#8211; just an awesome truck man &#8211; thanks for sharing.</strong></p>

<p>Happy Labor Day! Since we&#8217;re out and about enjoying our weekend, we&#8217;re going to skip our normal attempt at a newsworthy blog post and serve you up some eye-candy instead &#8211; <strong>444&#8217;s 2007 Double Cab Tundra</strong>. Enjoy!</p>
<p>Question:<em> What&#8217;s 88&#8243; tall, black, and weighs 5,000 pounds?</em></p>
<div id="attachment_1735" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1735" title="444-double-cab-tundra-hid-fog-lights" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/444-double-cab-tundra-hid-fog-lights.jpg" alt="444's 2007 Tundra Limited Double Cab with HID fog lights ON" width="450" height="299" /><p class="wp-caption-text">444&#39;s 2007 Tundra Limited Double Cab with HID fog lights ON</p></div>
<p>Answer:  <em>444&#8217;s Tundra</em>.</p>
<p>This show-quality Tundra has enough electronics to satisfy any member of the Geek Squad, and the truck just oozes over-the-top, in-your-face personality&#8230;kind of like a cross between a Dodge Viper, Lil&#8217; Kim, and a sledgehammer (or something like that).</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s more info about the truck.<span id="more-1734"></span></p>
<p><strong>Interior:</strong></p>
<p>For starters, it&#8217;s a Limited edition Tundra with the beautiful &#8220;King-Ranch-esque&#8221; Redrock leather interior.</p>
<div id="attachment_1738" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1738" title="kicker-custom-speaker-enclosure-tundra" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/kicker-custom-speaker-enclosure-tundra.jpg" alt="A hand-crafted custom speaker enclosure beneath the Tundra's rear seat houses Kicker subs" width="450" height="335" /><p class="wp-caption-text">A hand-crafted custom speaker enclosure beneath the Tundra&#39;s rear seat houses Kicker subs</p></div>
<p>The truck is stuffed with Kicker&#8217;s top of the line speakers (including 4 subs in custom enclosures under the rear seat), Kicker amps, and it&#8217;s all combined with a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty signal processor that runs all the electronics. <strong>This is a top-notch system</strong> (custom installation, lots of hand-made fabrication, dynamat everywhere, etc.).</p>
<p>The Rockford Fosgate 3sixty signal processor is a showpiece all it&#8217;s own (one worthy of a future blog post, in fact). We&#8217;ll keep it short &#8211; it does EVERYTHING, allows you to keep the factory story, and you might need a laptop to configure it.</p>
<div id="attachment_1737" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><strong><img class="size-full wp-image-1737" title="tundra-xbox-360" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/tundra-xbox-360.jpg" alt="Ever seen a Tundra with an XBox 360?" width="450" height="338" /></strong><p class="wp-caption-text">Ever seen a Tundra with an XBox 360?</p></div>
<p>Ridiculous! <strong>A 10.2&#8243; HD LCD screen in the dash paired up with an XBOX 360</strong>.</p>
<p>The truck also has a Kinetik HC2400 power cell installed so you can be sure the stereo will play for a long time when the engine is off.</p>
<p><strong>Exterior:</strong></p>
<p>The front-end is loaded: after-market grille, HALO projector headlights with LED, and the headlight lenses have been tinted. The truck even has 3M ClearBra material installed to protect from rock chips.</p>
<div id="attachment_1739" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1739" title="black-2007-custom-double-cab-tundra" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/black-2007-custom-double-cab-tundra.jpg" alt="This is one custom Tundra." width="450" height="295" /><p class="wp-caption-text">This is one custom Tundra.</p></div>
<p><strong>This truck is black:</strong> There&#8217;s a solid black limo tint on the rear windows, the tonneau cover is painted black to match, the box light lense and the rear tail light lenses have been dark tinted, and the 24&#8243; Asanti rims have been custom painted black to exactly match the body color. All the stock badges (like the Toyota logo and the red-and-chrome 5.7 badge) are gone too.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a touch of chrome too &#8211; the bull bar (with PIAA HID fog lights), step bars, and TRD exhaust tips are nice and bright.</p>
<p><strong>Suspension:</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/03/24/procomp-6-lift-kit-for-the-tundra/">ProComp stage II</a> with coil-overs, resulting in about 9&#8243; of total lift.</p>
<div id="attachment_1740" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1740" title="24-asanti-rims-pro-comp-lift" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/24-asanti-rims-pro-comp-lift.jpg" alt="The 24&quot; rims make the Tundra's huge stock brake rotors look small - and that's no &quot;small&quot; feat." width="450" height="491" /><p class="wp-caption-text">The 24&quot; rims make the Tundra&#39;s huge stock brake rotors look small - and that&#39;s no &quot;small&quot; feat.</p></div>
<p>The huge lift and fender flares can accommodate 37&#8243; Toyo Mud Terrains, and the truck has a Pro Comp skid plate to protect the underbelly.</p>
<p><strong>Performance:</strong></p>
<p>The motor is wearing a TRD Supercharger (did you expect anything less?) and a <a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2007/10/03/toyota-tundra-trd-dual-exhaust-product-review/">TRD Tundra exhaust system</a> to match.</p>
<div id="attachment_1741" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1741" title="trd-supercharged-2007-double-cab-tundra" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/trd-supercharged-2007-double-cab-tundra.jpg" alt="Who doesn't love the look of a TRD supercharger on a Tundra?" width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Who doesn&#39;t love the look of a TRD supercharger on a Tundra?</p></div>
<p>It&#8217;s even got a TRD oil cap (that&#8217;s got to be good for a couple of HP, right?).</p>
<p><strong>Without a doubt, this is one of the most expensive trucks we&#8217;ve featured</strong> &#8211; mostly because of the thousands of dollars of electronics (but the mega lift, wheels and tires, and TRD supercharger weren&#8217;t exactly cheap). The owner says that he&#8217;s put around $140k out (including the price of the vehicle).</p>
<div id="attachment_1742" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1742" title="444-double-cab-tundra" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/444-double-cab-tundra.jpg" alt="This truck is available for sale - if you can afford it!" width="450" height="275" /><p class="wp-caption-text">This truck is available for sale - if you can afford it!</p></div>
<p>The amazing part? <strong>It&#8217;s for sale</strong>. With less than 30,000 miles, this truck is still under warranty. If you&#8217;re interested, contact the owner through his <a href="http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3370819">CarDomain page</a>. We don&#8217;t know how much he&#8217;s looking to get out of it, but if you have to ask, you can&#8217;t afford it! <img src='http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p>It is certainly not unusual for companies to produce movie tie-in products in order to help promote a film. Not only is it good marketing to movie fans, but it also capitalizes on the hype that surrounds the movie. What <em>is</em> a bit out of the ordinary is for a car company to <strong>make a special edition vehicle for a movie that isn’t about cars whatsoever</strong>. The logic behind automobile placements in car movies &#8211; such as the “Smokey and the Bandit” edition Pontiac Trans Am &#8211; is fairly clear, but <em>it takes a real movie buff to spot the connection between the 2003 Terminator 3 Tundra and an unstoppable cyborg</em>.</p>
<div id="attachment_1455" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1455" title="terminator-movie-toyota-tundra" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/terminator-movie-toyota-tundra.jpg" alt="The Toyota Tundra Terminator edition promotion." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">The Toyota Tundra Terminator edition promotion.</p></div>
<p>Ready for the connection? The Tundra pickup truck was featured in a rather lengthy and spectacular car chase in Terminator 3 involving Arnold Schwarzenegger’s killer robot from the future and the Terminator X. While most of the eyes in the theater were probably on the action itself (and/or the TerminatriX), the truck driven by the escaping main characters was a Tundra (buried underneath a homemade cargo box and covered with ten different layers of dust and dirt).</p>
<p>The Tundra takes a real beating during the scene, yet it still manages to whisk the movie’s heroes to safety. The message:<strong> Toyota’s dedication to quality and toughness is good enough for “da tear-men-8-tor.”</strong><span id="more-1397"></span></p>
<p>In real life, Toyota produced a Terminator 3 Tundra as a special option package. It was available only in a monochromatic black paint job, with no chrome or stainless steel allowed. A special grille bearing a T3 identifier also helped to set the vehicle apart from other Tundras, as did T3 decals and unique rims. Inside the truck, metal accents replaced the standard Toyota trappings.</p>
<div id="attachment_1454" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1454" title="t3-tundra" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/t3-tundra.jpg" alt="The Special Edition &quot;T3&quot; Toyota Tundra" width="450" height="217" /><p class="wp-caption-text">The Special Edition &quot;T3&quot; Toyota Tundra</p></div>
<p>In terms of performance, the 2003 Toyota Tundra Terminator 3 Special Edition featured only subtle changes. The only real modification made to the drive train was the addition of a TRD dual exhaust system, which might not have added much grunt (about 10 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque) but it <em>certainly did sweeten the soundtrack to this V8-powered pickup</em>.</p>
<p>Not many of these T3 Tundras were built, and as a result they are a rare sight on America’s roads. The film itself was not a <em>huge </em>success (at least not by Hollywood standards), which caused the T3 Tundra to fade into obscurity as soon as the movie left theaters. Most people who encounter this special edition Tundra merely assume that its all-black motif and sticker package are the result of personal customization, not the product of Toyota’s marketing department. <strong>This makes the T3 Tundra one of the more interesting and possibly collectible movie vehicles built in the past few years. </strong></p>
<p>While it might not have the star power of a mustache-twirling Burt Reynolds at the wheel (and the surprisingly unattractive Sally Fields riding shotgun), <strong>it does have scarcity on its side</strong>, and in a few decades it could achieve the same type of cult status the original Terminator film has enjoyed in the years since its release.</p>
<p>That is, <em>unless the machines take over and destroy mankind</em>. Keep your fingers crossed.</p>

<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a look at Todd&#8217;s &#8220;Rogue Squadron&#8221; 2008 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited.</strong></p>
<div id="attachment_1418" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1418" title="rogue-tundra-1" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/rogue-tundra-1.jpg" alt="Black 2008 Toyota Tundra Crew" width="450" height="270" /><p class="wp-caption-text">&#39;Rogue Squadron&#39;s&#39; Black 2008 Toyota Tundra Crew</p></div>
<p>As you can see, it&#8217;s a TRD 4&#215;4 with a clean-as-can-be black paint job. We <em>really</em> like the black rims on this truck &#8211; it looks great but it&#8217;s also a very practical off-road choice &#8211; fancy rims are too expensive to risk scuffing up on the trail.</p>
<div id="attachment_1419" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1419" title="rogue-tundra-2" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/rogue-tundra-2.jpg" alt="N-Fab brush guard and Pro-Comp fog lights." width="450" height="355" /><p class="wp-caption-text">N-Fab brush guard and Pro-Comp fog lights.</p></div>
<p>Kudos to Todd for his clever exhaust setup on this truck &#8211; <strong>he added a set of Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers to the TRD exhaust system</strong>. A lot of people don&#8217;t think that the standard TRD exhaust is aggressive enough, and Todd&#8217;s modification is a simple way to get more sound out of the TRD kit while maintaining the TRD kit&#8217;s fit and finish.<span id="more-1412"></span></p>
<h2>Factory Equipment and After Market Accessories</h2>
<div id="attachment_1420" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1420" title="rogue-tundra-3" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/rogue-tundra-3.jpg" alt="Toyo Tires and TRD exhaust with Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers" width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Lookin&#39; mean with Toyo Tires and a TRD exhaust with Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers.</p></div>
<p>Todd&#8217;s Tundra has pretty much every factory option you could hope to find on a 2008 Tundra&#8230;plus a very nice list of extras:</p>
<ul>
<li> Factory Navigation system with OEM backup camera and parking sensors</li>
<li>After-market Navigation Safety Override Switch which enables the use of navigation system, even when the truck&#8217;s in motion.</li>
<li>Keyless remote ignition (of course).</li>
<li>Vaistech iPod Adaptor</li>
<li>Dark tinted windows</li>
<li><a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/08/08/kn-63-series-air-intake-kit-review/">K&amp;N Cold Air Intake</a></li>
<li>TRD Aluminum Skid Plate</li>
<li>Black Head-Light Mod (NICE.)</li>
<li>TRD Catback Exhaust Sytem, with muffler swapped to Flowmaster Super 40. We really like this modification (see more below).</li>
<li>N-Fab Nerf Bars and N-Fab Brush Guard</li>
<li>Pro-Comp 130 Watt Off-Road Lights</li>
<li><a href="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/discounted-toytec-lift-kits/">Toytec 3/1 Leveling Kit</a></li>
<li>18&#8243; Eagle Series 197 Wheels (-11 Offset)</li>
<li>Toyo Open Country MT 33&#8243;x12.5&#215;18 Tires</li>
</ul>
<p>Todd (a.k.a. &#8220;Rogue Squadron&#8221; on <a href="http://ibtohq.com/">IBTOHQ.com</a> and <a href="http://socaltundras.com/">SoCalTundras.com</a>) has gone all out with this truck, and it&#8217;s not just for show. He&#8217;s not afraid to get it dirty&#8230;</p>

<p><strong>Rogue Squadron&#8217;s Upcoming Tundra Modifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>McNeil Racing 4&#8243; Fiberglass Front Fenders</li>
<li>Defender Roof Rack with Light Bar</li>
<li>Camburg Engineering Long Travel Kit</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Everyone knows that the 2007+ Tundra and 2008+ Sequoia are both based on the same basic platform</strong>. Same engine and transmission options, essentially the same suspension and frame (with some minor but important differences), same interiors (at least from the 2nd row forward), etc. Automakers strive to share parts between vehicles because it keeps costs down with larger economies of scale, and quality is often improved on shared parts because automakers can afford to invest in more engineering and R&amp;D on a part that&#8217;s shared by multiple vehicles. But who cares, right? &#8220;<em>Show us the featured truck already</em>!&#8221;</p>
<p>Since so many parts are shared between the Tundra and Sequoia, it&#8217;s fun to mix and match. Everyone has probably seen <a href="http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/sparks-toyota/62193-color-keyed-07-08-tundra-door-handles.html">a Tundra with Sequoia door handles</a>, and some people have <a href="http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/exterior/1371-2008-toyota-sequoia-grill-onto-toyota.html">modified a chrome Sequoia grill to fit onto their Tundra</a>, but how many people have seen this?</p>
<div id="attachment_1170" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 435px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1170" title="08-tundra-sequoia-front-end" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/08-tundra-sequoia-front-end.jpg" alt="2008 Toyota Tundra with a Sequoia Front Clip" width="425" height="275" /><p class="wp-caption-text">2008 Toyota Tundra with a Sequoia Front Clip</p></div>
<p><strong>A Tundra with a Sequoia front bumper.</strong><span id="more-1169"></span></p>
<p>Take a look at the side-by-side to get a sense of how different the truck looks with the Sequoia bumper:</p>
<div id="attachment_1171" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1171" title="tundra-front-end-vs-sequoia-front-end" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/tundra-front-end-vs-sequoia-front-end.jpg" alt="A 2008 Tundra with a Sequoia front bumper and a stock 2008 Tundra below." width="450" height="570" /><p class="wp-caption-text">A 2008 Tundra with a Sequoia front bumper and a stock 2008 Tundra below.</p></div>
<p>Check out the subtle differences between the blue Tundra with the Sequoia front bumper and the white Tundra with the stock front bumper below:</p>
<ul>
<li>The shape of the fog light housings.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>There&#8217;s no &#8220;crease&#8221; below the grille on the Sequoia bumper.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The very slick looking lower grille on the Sequoia bumper versus the much more utilitarian lower grille on the Tundra.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The Sequoia bumper doesn&#8217;t seem to &#8220;stick out&#8221; as much as the Tundra&#8217;s bumper.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>One of the guys that works at Tundra Racing did this mod</strong> &#8211; he decided to trim the stock Tundra grille to fit with the Sequoia front bumper rather than use the Sequoia&#8217;s chrome grille. It works &#8211; looks sharp for sure.</p>
<div id="attachment_1172" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-1172" title="tundra-sequoia-front-bumper" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/tundra-sequoia-front-bumper.jpg" alt="The owner of this Tundra modified the stock Tundra grill so it would fit with the Sequoia bumper." width="450" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">The owner of this Tundra modified the stock Tundra grill so it would fit with the Sequoia bumper.</p></div>
<p>We like it the ingenuity, and we like the fact that this mod doesn&#8217;t rely upon after-market body parts. Good work!</p>

<li>The horsepower to weight ratio of this Tacoma is about 7.2 to 1.</li>
<li>A stock 09&#8242; Tundra Reg Cab with the 5.7 will run a 14 second quarter mile (give or take).</li>

<p><strong>Anyone want to guess how long this Taco needs to go 1/4 mile?</strong><span id="more-1147"></span></p>

Here&#8217;s a new one &#8211; Tundra Racing is building out a fast-as-hell Toyota Tacoma&#8230;with a Corvette motor.
That&#8217;s right &#8211; they&#8217;ve shoehorned a specially tuned 460 horsepower LS6 into an 05&#8242; Tacoma Regular Cab 2wd. Does that sound like a fast truck or what?

<p>Here&#8217;s a new one &#8211; Tundra Racing is building out a fast-as-hell Toyota Tacoma&#8230;with a Corvette motor.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s right &#8211; <strong>they&#8217;ve shoehorned a specially tuned 460 horsepower LS6 into an 05&#8242; Tacoma Regular Cab 2wd</strong>. Does that sound like a fast truck or what?</p>
<div id="attachment_948" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-948" title="tacoma-with-corvette-motor" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/tacoma-with-corvette-motor.jpg" alt="2005 Tacoma with a V8 LS6 Corvette motor." width="450" height="338" /><p class="wp-caption-text">2005 Tacoma with a V8 LS6 Corvette motor.</p></div>
<p>How about a <em>very</em> fast truck.<span id="more-945"></span></p>
<p>Getting a Corvette V8 to fit in an engine compartment that was designed with a 4.0L V6 in mind is a little challenging. First, Tundra Racing had to create custom motor mounts. Then they had to fashion special brackets to attach the alternator and radiator.</p>
<p>They also had to put a <strong>Corvette style exhaust on this Tacoma</strong> &#8211; huge headers and a custom exhaust system terminate to a mean-looking quad exhaust just under the rear bumper (note &#8211; the bumper needs paint).</p>
<div id="attachment_949" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-949" title="header-quad-exhaust" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/header-quad-exhaust.jpg" alt="Corvette headers and a quad exhaust." width="450" height="200" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Corvette headers and a quad exhaust.</p></div>
<p><strong>This is going to be a fast truck.</strong> But we said that already, didn&#8217;t we?</p>
<p>Of course, <strong>going fast means you need brakes &#8211; big brakes</strong>. Tundra Racing has a custom big brake kit with huge 13&#8243; rotors to help stop this lightweight truck.</p>
<div id="attachment_946" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-946" title="custom-big-brake-kit-tacoma" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/custom-big-brake-kit-tacoma.jpg" alt="Custom big brake kit." width="450" height="338" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Custom big brake kit.</p></div>
<p>Here&#8217;s a full list of this 2005 Regular cab 2&#215;4 Tacoma&#8217;s tricks:</p>
<div>

<li>Complete gauge package.</li>
<li>Custom stainless steel headers and exhaust, mandrel bent and tig welded.</li>

<div>Check out the cool gauges &#8211; the standard dash has been upgraded and there&#8217;s a nice looking set just in front of the shifter.</div>
<div id="attachment_947" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 460px"><img class="size-full wp-image-947" title="new-tacoma-gauges" src="http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/new-tacoma-gauges.jpg" alt="Custom Tacoma Gauges" width="450" height="200" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Custom Tacoma Gauges</p></div>
<p><strong>This truck is currently a work in progress</strong> &#8211; it&#8217;s still missing some paint so we don&#8217;t have any full images just yet. Once it&#8217;s all done, you can be sure that we&#8217;ll post all the pictures.</p>
