Power Seat Problems? Toyota Tundra Power Seat TSB

Toyota has released a TSB for some of its 2007-2010 Tundras regarding a power front seat that fails to operate because the 30-amp seat fuse is open. An improperly seated wiring harness has been determined to be the cause and installation of an updated wiring harness protector has been identified as the fix.
Installation of the updated wiring harness protector will be installed under Toyota’s Comprehensive Warranty until the expiration of 36,000 miles or 36 months from the date the vehicle was placed in service. The TSB number is 0060-11.
How to Repair the Power Front Seat and Open Fuse Issue
1. Make sure that the front power seat is inoperative and that the fuse is open. If either of these conditions is not met, then this TSB isn’t applicable. There will be another one, not to worry.
2. Remove the front power seat switch.
3. Check the color of the wiring harness protector:
- If it is WHITE, bypass this step and go to the next step, which would be step #4.
- If the wiring harness protector is GRAY, this TSB does NOT apply and you need go no further. However, if you have a problem, check the “Body Electrical Diagnosis Quick Reference Guide” to diagnose and correct an open fuse issue.
4. If the wiring harness is neither white nor gray, inspect it. Issues to look for:
- any damaged wires
- a protector that is not locked into position
If neither of the above conditions is observed, check the repair manual.
5. Replace the Power Seat Wiring Harness Assembly, making sure the wiring harness protector is fully locked into position.
6. Test it and put it back on the road!

36,000 miles…… On an 07 I find rare. They know this so forget most 07/08’s. You come out with a TSB 4 yearsw after the fact about an issue you know the mileage is past. So even if you abide by what they consider the avg 12-15k miles a year you’re out of luck on this fix. Fortunately I have 113,500 miles and I will reach 36k the second time around shortly. No issues on that factor. Other than the tranny issue the truck has been pretty much trouble free.

Mickey – That’s how it goes. The TSB is 3+ years late.
I am unable to see the wiring harness photo. My 07 tundra only has 28K miles so I need to fix this myself. Any help obtaining the wiring harness image would be helpful.

i have a 2008 tundra . the passenger seat doesnt work . 40000 miles on truck . iam screwed again .i cant see the wiring diagram in the box maybe its on purpose .how do i fix it if i have to apy for it. anyway if the part is a manufacturing problem why arent they required to fix it when that past goes up.
total B.S., Toyota should stand behind older 2007 tundras in this TSB outside of 3/36. A simple low cost solution so why not have at least some basic customer service? Now, if Toyota could fix the crappy pwr. drivers seat and track/frame on ALL 2007 and up Tundra trucks I would be impressed. All 3 of my 2007 on up Tundras have had or will be having the entire seat and track replaced well under 25,000 mark. Seat frame/bracket is way to sloopy due to inferior sheet metal being too thin and not solid even when new along with seat cushion breaking down in under 2 years and are junk.
Must bought used 2010 and the power seat just failed. I will look into the fuse issue but also plan to tear the whole seat out and fix properly with my own brackets if necessary.
